Ok, first of all, THIS TOOK AGES! Done in paint with my tablet! And am I proud of the result!

Next, the story:
As I reached out for the statue the bird adjusted its feathers. Within the blink of an eye it had turned upside down and started to dive. As more riders began chasing him, he started to roll. Gaining more and more speed, soon he was nothing but a yellow speck below. Fep squawked uneasily. I knew she felt the same as me. The others were getting too close to the cloud barrier. But they didn't notice, they were too focused on catching the golden bird. But their Loftwings had. They were scared of the unusual fluffy mass before them. Their birds gave up the chase. Much to the dissapointment of their riders. Okay, this is my only chance. I signaled to Fep to stop gliding. She felt I was ready to give it my best shot. Carefully we soared higher and tried to stay behind the golden loftwing, that way we could remain in his blind spot and strike from surprise. Carefully we approached. The other riders were still far below us. "We will only get one chance" I whispered to Fep. And we dived. But the bird saw us and banked left, resulting in us shooting past him. And as we flattened out I saw Link closing in on him. He was taking advantage of the distraction we had provided. And he snatched the statue. I buried my face in Fep's soft blue feathers. "Let's get home" I said with a single frustrational tear running down my cheek. "Maybe next year..."
